Nigeria Striker John Utaka Rejoins Ismaily SC
Nigerian striker John Utaka has rejoined the Daraweesh 15 years after leaving the club in 2001 for Qatari side Al-Sadd. He has confirmed his return to Egyptian Premier League side Ismaily SC to Kingfut in June after being offered a pre-contract, after his contract with Turkish side Sivasspor came to an end.
The former Portsmouth striker left Ismaily SC in 2001 for Qatari side Al-Sadd in a record breaking $1,000,000.
Utaka’s last professional club was Sivasspor in Turkey, where he scored 12 goals in 47 appearances. He was unveiled by Ismaily SC on Sunday, after watching the club defeat Al Masry 2-0 in the Egypt Cup on Saturday.
During his first stink at Ismaily SC, Utaka won both the Egyptian League and the Egypt Cup, and was the league’s highest scoring player in 2000.
