Arsenal Not Interested In Krychowiak, Says Wenger
Arsene Wenger has made it clear that Arsenal are not interested in signing Polish midfielder Grzegorz Krychowiak from Sevella.
A number of recent reports suggested the 25-year-old had caught the interest of the Arsenal scouts with his fine performances for the Liga side in 2014-15, yet Wenger has stressed he is not looking to strengthen his midfield with the former Reims man.
“Are we interested in signing Krychowiak? No,” the Arsenal boss stated at a press conference.
The Frenchman then went on to discuss the situation of Mathieu Flamini, who has been told he can leave Arsenal this summer, but is holding out for a pay-off from the club.
“Flamini? I expect him to stay.”
Arsenal were beaten 2-0 by West Ham on matchday one, but Wenger has insisted his side’s disappointing start will not force him to flex his muscle in the transfer market.
“When you lose a game there is a demand to sign players. Let’s look inside and not except a miracle from outside.
“We have a great group with a fantastic mentality. We are united and we will focus together on the next game.
“One result does not affect our transfer plans. We are working hard on that.”
Arsenal have brought in Petr Cech this term, but have remained quiet in the transfer market otherwise.
