The world was greeted with another shooting in a school on Tuesday as it was reported that a gunman had opened fire at Great Mills high school, Maryland.
New reports have revealed the identity of the gunman to be 17-year-old Austin Wyatt Rollins, a student at the school.
Wyatt began shooting at about 7:45am in the hallway of the school injuring a female and male student in the process.
The school resource officer fired a round at the shooter, injuring him.
He died at about 10:41 a.m. at the University of Maryland Charles Regional Medical Center in La Plata, authorities said.
The female victim is a 16-year-old. She was taken to Prince George’s County Shock Trauma with life-threatening injuries, authorities said. She is listed in critical condition. The 14-year-old male victim is in much better shape. He was shot in the leg and was taken to MedStar St. Mary’s Hospital where he is listed in stable condition.
Sheriff says the shooting may have been domestic related. Detectives determined there was a prior relationship between Rollins and the female victim, but a motive remains under investigation.
