ISIS Militant Behind Burning Of Pilot In Cage, Captured
An Islamic State leader who was one of five terrorists captured in Iraq last week was reportedly behind the execution of a Jordanian pilot who was burned alive in a cage in 2015.
US President Donald Trump said the five “most wanted” leaders of the IS militant group had been captured, an apparent reference to the capture of five commanders of the militant group by Iraq.
“Five Most Wanted leaders of ISIS just captured!” Mr Trump wrote in a post on Twitter on Thursday, providing no further details.
Iraq had described the capture of the IS commanders as “some of the most wanted” leaders of the group.
Saddam al-Jamal — who is believed to be the mastermind behind the harrowing execution of Jordanian pilot Muath al-Kasasbeh, 22, is reportedly among them.
He is also said to have ordered the execution of children, often in front of their parents.
And in 2014, Iraqi officials claimed al-Jamal had murdered an entire family after the parents prevented the daughter from marrying him.
