Jay Z Hit With $20m Lawsuit By Fragrance Company For Failing To Promote Their Product
Jay Z is reportedly being sued for more than $20 million after the company who created his scent Gold Jay Z, claims their deal and the fragrance did not turn to gold.
In 2013, Jay Z signed a deal with fragrance company Parlux to produce a new line of perfumes called ‘Gold Jay Z’. The agreement was that the rapper would use his name and public image to launch the product on social media, make promotional appearances and get it the necessary media traction.
But Jay Z, according to TMZ reports, didn’t fulfill his end of the bargain. The product turned out to be a massive fail, and now he is being sued by the company. Jay Z, the suit says, refused to show up at a Good Morning America event, at Macy’s, and in Women’s Wear Daily where the scent was scheduled to be promoted.
Parlux Fragrances want $18million in damages.
