Kelly Osbourne Apologizes Over Latinos ‘Cleaning Your Toilet’ Comment
Yesterday, on The View, TV host Kelly Osbourne made a racist flub that set the entertainment world and social media aflame.
It was during the hot topics segment about Donald Trump’s falling poll numbers with Latinos. The View co-host Rosie Perez read the statistics that clearly indicated Donald Trump failing popularity among the US Latino community, and Kelly Osbourne, in her attempt to slam Donald Trump, said, “If you kick every Latino out of this country, then who is going to be cleaning your toilet, Donald Trump?”
There was an awkward silence after she blurted this. The co-host were clearly shocked by her statement. Perez lost her voice, clearly dazed by Osbourne’s statement.
“Oh, that’s not… oh, no!’ Perez said, and Raven-Simone tried to save the day by making more awkward statements. Osbourne tried to clarify but Whoopie Goldberg took over the show before going on a commercial.
Reportedly, Kelly Osbourne broke down in tears: “Everyone is going to think I’m racist. I can’t believe this.”
And truly, multiple backlash followed on Twitter even after Rosie Perez apologised for misunderstanding her point. Hours later, Osbourne took to her Facebook page to take responsibility for her actions.
But this is not the first time Osbourne would be caught in a racist whirlwind. Last February, Osbourne resigned from E! Fashion Police following the racist joke made by Giuliana Rancic over singer Zendaya’s Oscar Award night hairstyle.
