Man Attacks U.S. Embassy In Montenegro With Explosive, Blows Himself Up
A man threw an explosive at the U.S. Embassy in Montenegro before blowing himself up after midnight on Thursday.
The suspect threw an explosive device — thought to be a hand grenade — on the grounds of the U.S. Embassy compound around 12:30 a.m. before he committed suicide, according to the Montenegrin government.
No motive has been given for the blast, though local newspaper Vijesti identified the attacker as 43-year-old Dalibor Jauković.
Residents reported hearing two explosions, and the government said that the man killed himself with a second explosive device.
Embassy officials confirmed Thursday morning that no staff had been injured in the blasts.
