Mel B Granted Five-Year Restraining Order Against Former Nanny Lorraine Gilles
Mel B has won a five-year restraining order against her former nanny Lorraine Gilles who she claims was made pregnant by her estranged husband.
The former Spice Girl, who is locked in a bitter divorce with her ex Stephen Belafonte, took out the order after alleging he had a seven-year affair with the German au pair.
Mel’s lawyer, Larry Bakman, appeared in court in Van Nuys, Los Angeles on Wednesday requesting the order.
He told the judge Shirley K Watkins he had presented evidence which showed a pattern of harassing and annoying behaviour from the nanny: “There were a number of incidents over a matter of time all designed to harass and annoy my client.”
Mr Bakman presented six pieces of evidence labelled A – F and a sworn declaration from the singer which were taken into consideration.
The order was inclusive of a stay away order and a personal conduct order.
It extends until midnight May 3, 2022.
Judge Watkins ruled: “Miss Brown has the need for a restraining order for Miss Gilles.”
She added: “The court will issue a personal and stay away order as requested.”
Mel has alleged her estranged husband got Gilles pregnant while she was employed by the couple.
She claimed Belafonte paid to put her up in an apartment using her millions to pay for it without her knowledge.
In court documents the singer alleged Gilles was paid over £240,390 of her earnings for “alleged nanny service”.
Mel also suggested her former nanny was paid £241,000 by Belafonte, 43, to have an abortion.
Gilles, who looked after the singer’s children Phoenix, 18, Angel, 10, and Madison, five, has hit back at her former employer with a defamation case.
In it, the former nanny, who is now married to Michael Bleau, alleges Mel knew about her relationship with Belafonte and was involved in sexual liaisons with them both.
She denies the singer’s claims she was having a secret affair, alleging Leeds-born Mel got involved in the trysts.
Gilles also denies taking £250,000.
