Nigerian Asylum Seeker Arrested In Italy Over The Murder Of His 76-Year Old Lover
Desmond Newthing, a 24-year old asylum seeker, has been arrested, for the murder of one Lanfranco Chiarini, a 76-year old entrepreneur, who was believed to be his lover and was stabbed to death in his villa in Castel San Pietro, on January 3, 2017.
According to reports in Italy, the murder happened following a sex-related meeting between the two. Bruises and 25 stab wounds were found on the body of the deceased. Newthing, was said to have arrived in Italy in 2015.
The murder which was said to have happened “on impulse” and not premeditated, still has no proven motive but, according to the findings by the investigators, there was sexual intercourse between the two before the murder.
The two were said to have known each other for at least a couple of months. It was also said that the deceased had promised Newthing a job and then reneged on the agreement.
