Shameful!!! Another Nigerian Man Nabbed For Drug Dealing In India
A 25-year-old Nigerian man, Nwankwo Okechukwu Sylvester, has been nabbed by narcotic agents in Delhi, India, for running an organized drug cartel and was captured while he was delivering about 40 grams of fine quality cocaine, valued at about Rs. 40,000 lakh, (about N160,000) in the international market, to a middle man at a Metro station, the Indian police reports.
Sylvester and the Indian middle man, Simranjeet Singh, 26, a marketing manager in a company in Delhi, were held in a sting operation at the Ramesh Nagar Metro Station in west Delhi where the Nigerian had come to deliver the cocaine consignment.
Joint Commissioner of Police (Crime Branch) Ravindra Yadav, said:
“Around 2.5 gm cocaine was recovered from Simaranjeet Singh and 40 gm cocaine and 30 tablets of Ecstasy (MDMA), used as a party drug in rave parties, were recovered from Nwankwo.
A case has been registered against them in this connection. The arrested Nigerian national was staying in India without valid documents. He was using a forged Indian VISA to evade deportation.”
The police added that Sylvester had come to Mumbai in 2011, on a tourist visa and started business of exporting ready made garments to Nigeria.
During this period, he came in contact with various persons from Nigeria who were involved in drug trafficking and shifted his base to Delhi and started living on rent in West Delhi area.
He then started supplying cocaine and ecstasy tablets on demand to his customers outside discotheques and hotels. The drugs were delivered to him in Delhi on the instructions of the main supplier based in Mumbai, police said.
